LEAD RECRUITER: Gene Chizik
RECRUITMENT: During the spring, Louisville, UNC, and South Carolina emerged as serious contenders for Harvey. The Heels, in particular, appeared to hold a significant lead because of his regular visits to Chapel Hill. Before taking official visits to those three programs in June, he snuck in an official visit to Oklahoma. He also flirted some with Wake Forest. On July 1, he announced his commitment to UNC.
EVALUATION: Harvey is a highly-productive, explosive edge rusher, who could play a traditional weak-side end role but would be best as a movable hybrid end/linebacker. During his final two high school seasons, the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder made 34.5 sacks, 50.0 TFL, and 77 QB hurries in 23 games. On the snap, he fires out of his stance where he often immediately slips through the gap between a pair of O-linemen just getting out of their stances. For tackles who get into their pass pro set quick enough, Harvey relies on a juke to bypass.
